“I LOVE YOU”

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

Alysha finally said her first 3-word sentence, and I’m glad to say it goes something like this… "I… LOVE… YOU!"

Her little brother Tristan has been saying these lovely words since he was 2, but coming from Alysha, now 4 1/2, it took me by surprise - something I definitely wouldn’t take for granted. She now religiously says the words before I put her to sleep - how sweet is that???

Having a child with disability has changed my life quite a bit. Initially, it turned my world up-side-down, but in the end LOTS of good things came out of it.

With Tristan, being such a lively & advanced lad, his development seems as though it always happens overnight. He excells so quickly, I don’t even notice it sometimes. As we speak, he’s learing to say the word: TELECOMMUNICATION - smart little bugger, isn’t he? With Alysha, it’s a completely different story. Each & every achievement is like a big trophy - for myself & Alysha. The first time she crawled, clapped, walked, jumped, ect… those were the highlights of my life because they didn’t come easily; lots of hardwork & frustration were put in it.

So folks… imagine just how it made me feel when I first heard Alysha say, "I LOVE YOU." No man in this world would have made the same impact on me saying those words… not even Brandon Routh!
