1980’s: moved on to Madonna, spent most of my afterschool hours singing to her songs in my locked bedroom - holding anything I could find as a pretend microphone…
Early 90’s: apa lagi kalo bukan… New Kids on The Block! Those who knew me back then would tell you how SEVERELY fanatical I was - so much so that now I think I was a bit pathetic ;P
Late 90’s: began to find my true interest in music, won two 1st prizes & 1 runner-up in 1997 Asia Bagus <not bad lah!>. Started playing in bands at schools/unis as well as cafes all around JKT & Bandung. Got a gig as a backing vocalist for REZA and went on tour with her in 1998. Sang in a band with Cynthia <AB 3>, sang for Magic Johnson - for crying out loud! Also recorded some backing vocals for local singers. My fave band of all was Callahary, though - loved the guys, their music, skills, and professionalism. Too bad they’ve now gone their separate ways…
